{"id":1495,"date":"2019-06-04T12:16:31","date_gmt":"2019-06-04T09:16:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fundatiapact.ro\/?p=1495"},"modified":"2021-03-24T18:19:40","modified_gmt":"2021-03-24T15:19:40","slug":"finantare-de-46-000-000-euro-pentru-ong-uri-in-urmatorii-6-ani-prin-programul-active-citizens-fund-romania","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/fundatiapact.ro\/en\/finantare-de-46-000-000-euro-pentru-ong-uri-in-urmatorii-6-ani-prin-programul-active-citizens-fund-romania\/","title":{"rendered":"46,000,000 Euro funding for NGOs over the next 6 years through the Active Citizens Fund in Romania"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>Bucharest, June 3, 2019 &#8211; The Civil Society Development Foundation and its partners launched today the Active Citizens Fund programme, which will made available 46,000,000 Euro for financing non-governmental organizations over the next 6 years.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Active Citizens Fund seeks to develop the long-term sustainability of civil society, strengthening its role in promoting democratic participation, active citizenship and human rights.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8220;It is not possible to develop resilient and pluralistic democracies unless the voices of a wide spectrum of society are heard, and their interests taken into consideration in governmental processes&#8221;<\/strong>, declared <strong>Mr.<\/strong> <strong>Thor Kleppen S\u00e6ttem<\/strong>, State Secretary for the Minister of Justice and Immigration of Norway during the launching event.<\/p>\n<p>In Romania, Active Citizens Fund is operated by the Consortium composed of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fdsc.ro\/\">Civil Society Development Foundation<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.repf.ro\">Romanian Environmental Partnership Foundation<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.romacenter.ro\">Resource Center for Roma Communities<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fundatiapact.ro\">PACT Foundation<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frivillighetnorge.no\/no\/english\/\">Frivillighet Norge<\/a>. The programme will be implemented during the next 6 years. 11 <strong>Calls for proposals<\/strong> will be launched starting this autumn in the <strong>6 areas of support<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Democracy, active citizenship, good governance and transparency;<\/li>\n<li>Human rights and equal treatment through combating any discrimination on the grounds of racial or<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>ethnic origin, religion or belief, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation or gender identity<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Social justice and inclusion of vulnerable groups<\/li>\n<li>Gender equality and gender-based violence<\/li>\n<li>Environment and climate change<\/li>\n<li>Capacity building for NGOs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Youth inclusion<\/strong> is one of the programme priorities. A special attention is paid to <strong>empowerment of vulnerable groups<\/strong> and <strong>33% of the re-granting budget<\/strong> is allocated to this.<\/p>\n<p>The launching event that took place at the National Bank of Romania this afternoon was attended by the representatives of the Norwegian Government, the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bucharest and the Financial Mechanism Office of the EEA and Norway Grants, 150 civil society representatives from Romania and the European Union, and other partner institutions. The overall objective of the grants is to reduce economic and social disparities, and to strengthen bilateral relations between 15 b<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>eneficiary countries and the donor states (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway).
