Dumitru has been working for the development of Prahova county for more than 10 years, in the governmental and nongovernmental sector. During his 8 years of work for local public administrations, Dumitru developed and implemented infrastructure as well as social projects in Carbunesti and Aricestii Zeletin communes. He has been working in the nongovernmental sector since 2000, when he participated in the foundation of the Zonal Center for Adult Education Valenii de Munte – an alternative for the politics of lifelong education providers. He has also founded a youth NGO, the Association for the Young European, that activates in Carbunesti commune with the main purpose of developing and diversifying the youth services and programs offer, as well as training youth in the spirit of European values and principles. At the present, Dumitru works as Trainer/Mentor within Romania’s Communes Association, as well as General Secretary and Projects Coordinator for Prahova NGO Federation, a county body that he also founded. Since September 2010, Dumitru works as a community facilitator in Prahova county, in the frame of the 5th round of the Community-based Organization Development Program – “Learning, Participation, Trust”.
