Period of implementation: March – September 2017
Teenagers need models that can offer them examples in order to build their professional path. Young people from big towns can participate to events organized by NGOs, workshops and conferences, so they have the opportunity to obtain educational experience and meet people who can guide them in the adult life. On the other hand, young people from small communities from Southern Romania don’t have access to various non-formal programs and they choose as examples role-models promoted only by the media.
Through this project, we intend to develop a “long distance” educational program for over 20 young people from Bumbești Jiu(Gorj), Filiași(Dolj), and Slatina (Olt). The mentors are people from the business, art and culture, IT, HR, entertainment, medicine and non-governmental sectors. They will participate in online meetings with the young and will advise and guide them in choosing a professional and personal path.
We want to improve the access of the young people from small communities to various resources which can contribute to their development. We will also produce 10 videos so that more teenagers from the rural communities where we work can have access to the mentors’ life experiences. After completing the program, the young people will participate in an interactive workshop.
This project is developed in partnership with Telekom Romania.
