Carmen is an engineer, specialised in the restoration of historical monuments. She loves and she is passionate about patrimony, being involved in environmental protection activities, which generate income. She is an evaluator, and supervisor within the „income generating activities” section of the Romanian Social Development Fund, for programmes designed for groups in disadvantaged rural communities, financed by the World Bank and the Council of Europe Development Bank.
She began collaborating with PACT Foundation in 2007, within the community business development programme, which supported alternative income generating activities. The purpose was to create a framework for the economic inclusion of disadvantaged groups, in seven rural and urban localities in the south.
In 2012, during the Identity-Tradition-Local Welfare project, implemented by the PACT Foundation, Carmen delivered training and consultancy activities for the development of social and cultural entrepreneurship initiatives in five rural communities in the south of the country: Spanțov (Călărași county), Cândești (Dâmbovița county), Găujani (Giurgiu county), Făcăeni (Ialomița county) and Cocorăștii Mislii (Prahova county).
